F&K Renewables Limited

Market Context

The ‘Old Age’ of energy is creeping back, with the restoration of coal mines becoming more prominent around the globe. In December 2022, the UK announced plans to open a coal mine for the first time in 30 years, in Cumbria.

The UK is experiencing a disastrous lack of good quality, safe and affordable social housing. Crisis UK argues the source of the problem is the ‘rent to buy’ schemes; these depleted social housing stocks, and trapped people into being unable to climb the housing ladder. Additionally, the UK is experiencing significant bed-blocking issues which put further pressure on housing.

With countless people struggling to afford rent, energy bills and receive much needed support, we have a unique solution: Integrating Renewable Energy with Housing Solutions.

Our Strategy

Our strategy is to become more of principals/co-developers. FKR is active in fund raisings/corporate finance in the renewable energy sectors with some co-development experience.

Collaborating with Watt-Tariff, which is a UK company in energy switching to become an integrated solar/wind developer with operating assets with access to the wholesale electricity market in the UK.

The team has completed $6bn plus transactional value for private and institutional investors in the renewable energy sector, with £2bn in the property sector, across borders and particularly in solar, wind, hydro, and with deep carbonisation of grids heavily reliant on renewables, innovative long-duration energy storage.

FKR is ethical in all its strategic, financial and investment advice.

Why Renewable Energy?

The age of ‘Old Energy’ is slowly burning itself out – but more slowly in
some global territories than others because a third of the ‘richer’
world’s inflation is due to energy price hikes so:

why renewable energy

Enhancing Existing Buildings

Why Temporary Housing?

Since 1980, there are 1.4 million fewer households in social housing with over 225,000 people actively homeless, and an additional 300,000 sofa surfers (the unseen homeless). This has to change to ensure a healthy population and communities.

There is a current need of well over 1 million buildings. The UK requires over 400,000 new dwellings per year, whereas there are currently less than 200,000 new dwellings per year.

Additionally, the UK is experiencing significant bed blocking issues which has put pressure on housing and hospitals, as patients are unable to be discharged due to a lack of care packages or convalescent accommodation.

One way to amend this cyclical crisis is through temporary housing/pods.

The pods are safe, stackable and mobile structures that can last up to 60 years, having a much smaller impact on the environment than permanent structures as well as having significantly lower barriers for planning permission.

The most imperative element of the pods is affordability. This lower affordability for the constructor is then transferred to the tenant, which in turn enables them to invest in themselves and their future.

Why Temporary Housing?
